Kanha National Park known for its unmatched beauty is spread over 940 sq. kms. Replete with sal, bamboo, bahera trees, Kanha is the land of swinging grass fields and obliquely flowing rivers. The saga of Kanha has been depicted in the "Jungle Book" written by the great poet Rudyard Kipling. The special "Project Tiger" scheme for protection of tigers was initiated here. In Kanha, diverse species of wild creatures exist. Among primate species, there are wild monkeys; squirrel, boars, cheetahs, deer, wild cats, tigers etc. can be seen. Among two hundred types of birds usually cocks, pigeons, peacocks, neelkanth etc can be located
