Bharatpur ( Rajasthan, North India )
Famous Jat Maharaja Suraj Mal founded this city in 18th century. It is eastern gate of Rajasthan from Uttar Pradesh. The Bharatpur Fort is made from soil and the gates of which were brought from the Red Fort of Delhi.
Lohagarh Fort: (the iron fort), made of the stones of igneous rocks, which is as strong as iron. Jat Maharaja Surajmal built the fort in 18th century .There are two towers of special interest viz. JahawarBurj. At the entrance gate of the Fort, a huge painting of elephant is a matter of attraction for the tourists.
Bharatpur place: built by various Maharajas in succession. The victory tower and cenotaph attract the tourisits. It is a magnificent amalgamation of Mugal and Rajput architecture. In the main centre part of the Fort, a Government Museum is there, having a rich collection of articles related with arts and crafts, culture, miniature paintings and ancient articles of ex cavation. Moreover, the Ganga Mata Temple, Lakshman Temple Mosque, Iron Pillar, Kishori Palace, etc are the centres of tourist attraction.
Keoladeo Ghana National Park : is one of the best Parks and Wildlife sanctuaries.About 390 varieties of birds have been noticed in the Park. The Siberian Cranes come to indiafor breeding and land at this Park. The outstanding nesting species are the open billed strok, painted strok, egrets, darter, spoonbill, herons and cormorants during monsoons. The visitors are allowed from 7-10 am and 3-6 pm for taking a round in it.The Government Museum of Bharatpur is also worth visiting.
Bayana Usha Temple : (45km, south), situated in the historic city of Bayana, is related with Dwapar period. Standing on the huge pillars made of red stones is a good art-work of Rajput and Jain amalgamation. Deeg(34km) is famous for the marvelous beauty of the palace and the garden ornamented with the fountains. Gopal Bhawan, Kishan Bhawan, Nand Bhawan, Suraj Bhawan etc. are worth visiting places.
Mughal Garden of Dholpur: (Lotus Garden) was built by Babar in 1529 AD. Probably this is the oldest Mughal Garden, if properly maintained, might be converted into a unique tourist attraction. There are many worth visiting palaces in Dholpur which include mainly Water-fall, palace, Fort , Temple etc. 18 km away from Dholpur , the Ram Sagar Sanctuary is famous for wildlife and Lake with palace.
