Pushkar ( Rajasthan, North India )
Situated 11 kms ahead of Ajmer, Pushkar Pilgrimage is considered to be the best one. There are 400 temples and 52 ghats (bathing berths). There is one interesting story behind the foundation of Pushkar.
Pushkar Fair: is held every year, with a participation of more than 2 lac visitors and tourists. This internationally famous fair is held between Ekadashi to Purnamasi of Kartik Shukl ( November / December). During this period, thousands of horses, camels and cows are marketed. The tourists and pilgrims get charged with curiosity while observing the horse race and camel race- organized on this occasion
The Temple of Lord Brahma, situated on the bank of lakes, is the only temple of Lord Brahma in India. The holy glimpses on four faces symbolize four stages of life - the childhood, the youth period, the age of worries and lastly the old age.
