BOUNDARIES
The land mass of India juts out as a peninsula into the mighty seas. To the North, the high Himalayan mountains provide a natural barrier between India and the arid expanses of Central Asia. In the East and West lie massive water bodies- the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea, respectively. For the rest, India is surrounded by the nation states of South Asia- Pakistan in the West, Nepal in the North, Bhutan and Bangladesh in the East. Sri Lanka lies south of the India subcontinent. The same reefs that form India's Lakshadweep islands in the South-West carry on to form the Maldives, which are not far from here. India's neighbors of note include China and Myanmar.
