 Jim Corbett National Park

India is vast in geography, colourful with varied cultural streams and extremely rich in flora & fauna. To help conserve and flourish the bio-diversity, Government of India has developed scores of national parks. Every national park has a defined goal of conserving selective endangered species. Corbett National Park focuses on preserving Royal Bengal tiger. The first national park of India was established in 1936 and was called Hailey National Park. Thereafter, it was named Ramganga National Park after river Ramganga that flows through it and is prime water source of Corbett Wildlife Sanctuary. Later on its name was again changed as Corbett National Park in honour of Jim Corbett, a legendary hunter turned conservationist.

Corbett National Park, situated in the foothills of the Himalayas, is considered as paradise by wildlife enthusiasts. Being home to Royal Bengal tigers, large number of elephants and vivid & rich bio-diversity, Corbett Wildlife Sanctuary becomes an essential destination of wildlife tours in India. After creation of a new state, the core area of the Corbett Tiger Reserve falls under Uttarakhand. With flat valleys, hilly ridges and rolling grasslands, Corbett Wildlife Sanctuary provides the perfect habitat for a rich eco system.
